About us

Climate UK is the national face of local climate action. We are a network of organisations and individuals supporting local action in England, Northern Ireland and have close links with the Scottish Government-funded Adaptation Scotland programme and the Welsh Government. You can contact any of us in the network via the links on Our Network page or via our Climate UK Contact Us page.

Climate UK is constituted as a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (registered as Climate Partnership UK in 2011, no. 07706735). We have five directors (pictured) who are drawn from the network: Jon Clubb, Jodie Davis, Dan Griffiths, Kristen Guida (Chair), Mike Peverill and a company secretary, Carol Magras.

Our Role is to facilitate a bottom up, nationwide response to climate change by bringing together knowledge and technical expertise from every part of the UK to tackle the challenges and opportunities we face - a national response that reflects local circumstances, local risks and local opportunities. We help to bridge the gap between national Government policy on climate change and the hundreds of public, private, voluntary and community organisations that are committed to taking action. We support the implementation of national policy whilst understanding the realities and constraints of delivering action on the ground.

Climate UK is pleased to work with the Environment Agency’s Climate Ready Support Service, providing a range of local outreach and online activities. The Climate Ready Support Service works with Climate UK and other partners to provide tailored sector support and advice to help organisations adapt to the changing climate. You can access Climate Ready tools and guidance developed by the Environment Agency and its partners from our Resources page (use the Climate Ready filter)

Our Experience has been built up over the last decade through each of our member partnerships, raising awareness, building capacity, developing learning networks of individuals and organisations. Our key interest is in building the resilience of the UK to help minimise and cope with the impacts of a changing climate. We support local authorities, health trusts, large and small businesses and communities to reduce costs, assess climate risks and develop proportionate actions. Climate UK seeks to grow and spread the knowledge and skills that will help build a better future for everyone.
